Roman Army School.

17th to 21st April 2010.

Roman Army School, 2010.

The Roman Army School in 2010 will take place at St. Aidans College, Durham  from Saturday 17th to Wednesday 21st April.

This, the 35th residential meeting, which is run annually by the Society, comes 40 years after the first Roman Army School, also at St Aidan's, and we will try and commemorate this suitably at the Saturday dinner.

The general theme  for 2010 is "Enemies of Rome", one we have used before, though not all speakers will be taking a related topic. It is suitable for both the beginner and advanced student.

The meetings will run from Saturday evening to Wednesday lunch time. The fact that it is residential allows the participants to exchange views with the speakers in an informal atmosphere outside the programmed sessions. There are non-residential places available.

Speakers include:-  Jon Coulston   -   Brian Dobson -  Adrian Goldsworthy   -   Nick Hodgson   -   Birgitta Hoffmann  -  Kurt Kleemann   -   Val Maxfield   -   Matthew Symonds   -   Blanka Misic   -   Ed Valerio   -   Jorit Wintjes   -  David Woolliscroft.

Accommodation,  The accommodation available consists of standard rooms (with wash basin in room, shared bathroom) and  en-suite rooms. There are a limited number of twin en-suite rooms (early booking is recommended).

Costs, The costs include course fees, accommodation and all meals from Saturday dinner through to lunch on Wednesday.
